The Role
The 3 day experience was mentally and physically challenging and consisted of many team exercises with presentations, but on the whole I enjoyed it. I felt that I learnt a considerable amount in a small space of time.
Given that this only was for 3 days, I felt that the course organisers made us feel valued by engaging us into the tasks and also encouraging us to ask questions.
The supervisors and managers we met were fantastic and gave us some good advice about our potential future career prospects.
The days were very busy and at the end there was always a social event. By the end you will be very tired!
The Talent Academy didn't really showcase much responsibility as this only came from volunteering as the team leader. This was rotated so that different people had the responsibility.
Due to the numerous tasks I felt that my creativity was broadened especially with regards to problem solving. In addition core skills such as teamwork, organisational and communication skills were also enhanced.
The Company
The atmosphere at the site was good and there was a real buzz around the delegates.
This went really well and according to our schedule which we received when we got on site.
All expenses were paid and we were provided with a useful interactive learning experience. I feel that PwC also invested by providing insightful speakers such as Senior Managers in different departments to speak to us.
Company Parties/Events
Talent academy delegates are often considered for an internship. This may be assessed by a further interview.
The Culture
There were many like-minded students at the academy and we all went to the evening activities.
PwC provided all expenses over the 3 days.
It is difficult to comment on the nightlife given that we were unable to experience it as we were limited to a few days!
I was told by the managers that there are various clubs to be involved in within PwC such as the football leagues.
