The Role
I enjoyed the experience as I learnt a great deal about assurance which confirmed my decision to pursue a career in the industry.
The team members made me feel at home at the client sites and would keep me involved throughout. This was really beneficial as I was performing tasks which I have had no experience of doing before.
I was assigned a counsellor from the beginning who was very understanding and advised me when I did not know who to contact. The seniors (executives) were especially supportive and oversaw the standard of my work.
This fluctuated depending on which client I was booked on. Year end clients proved to be much busier and I would often leave the office later than I would have liked.
I was given a reasonable level of responsibility given that I had not previously done any audit work before. However, the training equipped me for the challenges.
My communication skills with clients was greatly aided as were my problem solving skills as these were used daily.
The Company
The office (when I was in it!) was great! I really enjoyed how everyone from the interns to the graduates sit with each other.
I was informed about my clients relatively late prior to starting but other than this and the minor hiccup, it went smoothly.
The company provided initial audit training and has also paid for our tuition at college for our professional exams.

The Culture
A group of us went out every Friday evening around London Bridge and we also participated in a group corporate social responsibility event.
Unfortunately not as cheap as I would of liked, but given that this was London, one has to take the hit.
The nightlife was great when we got to experience it. Usually after our exams!
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with different events such as 5-a-side football and badminton.
