The Role
The spring internship was a great opportunity to develop key interpersonal skills in a competitive challenging environment.
We had no direct contact to employee teams but my peer group were very supportive and functional.
Senior management and HR provided us personal and group feedback for the various tasks we completed through the week
Extremely busy, it was an intensive week insight to give the best well rounded view so lots of information to take in, within a short period of time
No direct work impacting tasks as it was presenting based and exercises to management and HR
The emphasis on team work and presenting exercises really challenged my abilities and naturally strengthened them through this experience
The Company
There was no direct interaction in the office environment, but from the staff I met they were extremely friendly.
The organisation was extremely structured and was timetabled, it was great to know what we would be doing each day during the week to prepare.
Loads of various learning resources and business speakers from across the business which took the time to lecture us on various matters.
From this stage if you perform well you are fast tracked to a potential internship placement.
The Culture
It was only a week long but during it many relationships were made due to the long contact in groups and team based tasks.
This was based in London it was extremely expensive to get around particularly on public transport.
Lots of different events on, we went out only once during the 5 day programme.
Barclays provided us with social events such as quiz night and various cuisine nights which was such a unique opportunity.
