The Role
The talent academy was a great was to spend 3 days of the Easter break. I felt that PwC pulled out all the stops to look after us.
PwC provided a memorable experience and chose a fantastic venue for us to stay. Everyone there was really friendly and they even gave us PwC hoodies at the end of the scheme!
The mentors were really enthusiastic and we got to know them so well during the 3 days through dinner and the various social events they organised.
I was busy but it was a good type of busy! The days were packed with group tasks such as presentations and challenges which heightened the competitive atmosphere within the groups!
As this was just the talent academy, no real responsibility was given.
The training is not so relevant for my degree but definitely for my future career. The communication skills that I have developed will most surely come into use in the near future.
The Company
The centre that the academy was based in was excellent. All amenities were provided and the atmosphere was relaxed but exciting.
I will have to award them with 10 stars here because I was so impressed as to how they managed to fit all of the tasks and presentations and feedback into just 3 days.
The academy was all expenses paid and they invested heavily in our training for the few days.
Company Parties/Events
Most academy students do tend to receive either an offer or a further interview and assessment centre, particularly for more competitive service lines.
The Culture
After the day's activities we had the opportunity to unwind and everyone was keen to get to know one another and make the most out of the experience.
PwC treated us to everything! This significantly reduced our costs!
The 3 day placement didn't have a night out in the local area unfortunately.
The insight academy hosted socials after work which gave us a chance to get to know the mentors and other students better.
