The Role
The Olympics/Paralympics shifts were incredible, although my work within IM in between was relatively quiet and unstructured, due to many being busy with the Games.
They held one-to-ones every few weeks, but was left to own devices in terms of finding work.
Other colleagues proved to be far more helpful than official management, in terms of providing feedback, allocating work and networking.
Had one project to work on over the summer, with a few ad-hoc admin tasks.
Given reasonable responsibility for one project over the whole Summer, but not so much in other tasks. Was given the opportunity to present to Leadership Team which was good.
Not so much for degree studies, but being in such a large organisation certainly helped in terms of channelling in to something I actually enjoy. Was sponsored to take a professional exam which was an excellent addition to CV.
The Company
Reasonably quiet but a few characters who made days go quite quickly!
Due to Games, it felt like there was no actual work in IM due to expected busyness of staff. Was asked to try and organise own placements which I did successfully.
Now have job in different area of TfL, and was sponsored to take professional exam. Fantastic company for investing in staff.
