The Role
The internship was much better than I had expected and was full of social events which really broke the ice and helped me to get to know the majority of the other interns.
This was very close to being like family, I really felt that I fitted in with my colleagues and they made my experience a pleasant one.
I was assigned a buddy and a counsellor whom looked after me while I was there. Both were really supportive and my buddy helped me with practical things like helping me when I had timesheet issues.
This varied quite a bit. On some days I did not have much work and on others I was leaving the office at 7pm. I gathered that the amount of work was dependent on the client.
I was given enough responsibility and I received good feedback for taking ownership of my work.
I picked up the art of networking while I was there and also from working in a few audit rooms, I have developed my teamwork skills.
The Company
The atmosphere was great and I love their offices. As corny as this sounds it was like the office which I always imagined I would work in.
The internship was organised really well, I knew where I needed to be at all times and I knew when I would be having training as this was communicated to me in advance.
The firm provided lots of social activities and training which was a good investment in my development.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I was successful in obtaining a graduate job! This just proves that this was a worthwhile experience.
The Culture
Everyone was really sociable and we really got to know each other within the first few weeks.
London is very very expensive! The alternative here is to pick a regional office where the cost of living will be much cheaper.
The nightlife was good when we got the chance to go out. Our group did tend to go for the old London pubs instead of the modern clubs so I can only say so much.
There were a few different sports activities to be a part of but I did not have the time to take part.
