The Role
Thouroughly enjoyed every minute of it
Felt as though the work I was doing was making a diiference
Support and guidance at every stage
It can be very busy at times and you are rushed off your feet, at other times it can be very quiet. Thats the nature of R&D
Project Leader on one of the projects as well as left to work under your own initiative
Report writing has improved immensely, communication due to communicating with colleagues in different countries, organisational skills, project management skills
The Company
Fantastic! Everyone gets along and there is lots of banter
Good, had no issues when started and was working well during my first week. Had regular contact with the Uni as well as the placement tutor coming to visit
No training offered, but the opportunity was there if requested
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
National Travel
Financial Bonus
I requested opporunites for employment once I had graduated, they offered me a £3000 bursary for my final year at Uni
The Culture
Not between other studnets, but within the department, yes
Rent was the same as elsewhere, nights out can be pretty cheap
Some good bars and restaurants as well as clubs
Yes, lots. The social club ran a variety of events and sports opportunities
