The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed working in the manufacturing sector and within purchasing.
I felt highly valued by the purchasing team in both Wrexham and Southampton, as well as by those who I worked collaboratively with on a daily basis.
My manager was exceptionally supportive of my growth, development and learning.
After the first few months of learning, I gained more responsibility, took on more tasks and saw projects that I was working on build up significant momentum.
My manager encouraged responsibility and allowed me to really explore areas that were of interest to me.
I have found that the system skills, knowledge of manufacturing processes and strategic purchasing practices were of great value in my first role after completing university.
The Company
It was good to get on with work and concentrate.
It was very well organised with a handover, relevant documentation to manage any future queries and support/reviews from the purchasing team.
I obtained training on new systems and gained mentoring from my manager.
A graduate scheme was introduced the year of my graduation, but no communication was provided regarding this. However, I was contacted regarding an entry level role.
The Culture
We ate lunch together and got along great but due to some students commuting from a long distance we were unable to do more social activities.
I did not live in the area but from what I have heard it was reasonable.
Fun.
We would all go for lunch on friday together but there was not many out of work activities.
