The Role
The Insight Academy was an enjoyable experience which had a balance of relevant introductions to the company, opportunities to network and the unfortunately necessary assessments in the selection process.
They were all very friendly and keen to get to know everybody which made for a nice pleasant atmosphere.
PwC staff were generally quite easy to get hold of whenever we needed help or pointing in the right direction.
We were kept very busy throughout the three days of the course, but everything we did was productive and made the most of the short time we had there.
The assessments we carried out did matter in terms of the chances we had of getting an internship but ultimately the cases we studied were fictional and had no bearing on the company's running; this is not particularly surprising for a three day course for first years!
I gained a lot of experience of the job application process and developed many of the skills involved in working in a professional environment, particularly in the lines of service PwC is involved in.
The Company
Pleasant on the whole despite the fact that we were competing for offers for internships. Everyone was fairly keen on working together and doing well.
Everything ran pretty much according to the tight schedule we were given.
They spent a good deal of time and money on the Insight Academy and many of us will return in the following summer to build on this in an internship.

International Travel
Most people make the most of the chance to prove themselves in the assessments and either get offered internships or are fast tracked in the selection process for some of the more competitive lines of service.
The Culture
On the whole yes, though the time we had to socialize was limited by the short duration of the scheme.
Everything was paid for by PwC!
We had a little time to spend in the bar in the hotel with each other and some PwC employees but that was all that could be done in the few days we were there.
Not really because we were just kept in a countryside resort for an intense few days so doing other things was a bit irrelevant!
