The Role
I had an amazing time and all my expectations about the internship were exceeded by miles.
Everyone - even people outside the project and internship team - was extremely helpful and approachable, always offering help and advice regarding work and career-related matters.
My supervisors considered me and the other interns as a fundamental part of the team and provided us with all the guidance and help we needed, even if the pace at the beginning was a little slow.
Throughout the beginning of our project we were kept extremely busy and always received new tasks to do. It slowed down a bit towards the end, which is usually in consulting, but our supervisors arranged for us to support another project. In addition to our client work, we were asked to work on a contribution work, which kept us on our toes towards the end of the internship.
There was not one moment I felt like an intern. We were treated as ordinary entry-level consultants and received the same responsibilities, with possibly a little more guidance.
I have found that I could transfer most of the skills I used within our project to any project and assessment I have encountered in my final year at university so far.
The Company
The office atmosphere was very relaxed and it was generally quiet most days.
This was the first time a formal internship was run by Capco and considering this, the planning and set up has been excellent. We were given the opportunity to shape it a little during our time there and a few extras were added on an ad hoc basis.
We received boiled down training of the entry-level associate position, which was very helpful on client site. In addition, we received sector-specific training throughout the internship.
Company Parties/Events
Although we received the opportunity to be fast-tracked for their graduate program, which entailed two rounds of interviews with three people, not all interns received an offer.
The Culture
Although all interns came from different backgrounds and countries, we got on extremely well and are still in touch!
London is notorious for its high living expenses and it definitely lived up to its reputation.
We did not get much of a chance to discover the nightlife, although there appears to be always something that is on!
Capco has a large number of different societies, mainly revolving around sports, which we had the opportunity to join.
