The Role
It gave me a good idea that I wasn't really cut out for this type of environment. I didn't really enjoy the lack of support during the placement.
Everyone was usually extremely busy and rushed off their feet. It seemed that we were just there to do general tasks. when we were given proper work I felt that the supervision could have been highly improved.
I was given one main contact when I was there and they were supportive at times however they were not from the same department and I found that I didn't have much guidance from those around me.
I was busy pretty much every day and often would leave the office at around 9pm.
Due to the nature of the work, I was given a small amount of responsibility. I was not too fussed as to the extent of the responsibilities I was given. I was more concerned about the support and training.
I definitely got to learn more about the industry as a whole and I made some good friends during my time there.
The Company
The environment felt pressured. Even lunch times were quite short. My floor was not as bad as some of the others so I have heard!
The placement was set up well. Our initial training was probably the highlight of my time there.
As I mentioned, the firm gave us a two-week training course which was really beneficial for our day to day work. It was also a good learning curve into investment banking.

Company Parties/Events
I wasn't successful in converting the internship but I knew from this that it was not really my cup of tea!
The Culture
There was a good scene, events didn't happen as much as I would have liked, primarily because of the late finishes. Friday nights were a definite outing each week however!
For the money that I was getting paid, the cost of living was not too bad on the whole.
Nightlife was relatively good. It does not compare to university nights out though.
I was not aware of any other activities which I could participate in.
