The Role
Very interesting but quiet at times
People were very willing to help and to explain things I didn't understand.
Not a huge amount of guidance from supervisor, could done with being given more work.
Sometimes very busy but usually quite quiet. WOuld like to have been given more to do.
Was given quite a lot of responsibility for the projects I was involved in.
Lots of very useful skills learned in terms of accountability and project management as well as experience of the Nuclear industry.
The Company
Relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere and plenty of opportunities to get out of the office and on plant.
Seemed to be well set up by the company but there was no programme at the station and it seemed like a lot of the staff weren't really sure what I was there for. I didn't know what work I'd be doing until after starting.
Excellent training opportunities, the compan does look after its employees.
Company Parties/Events
very good chance of getting on the graduate scheme at the end of the placement, if you want to.
The Culture
Not really.
About normal really (Scotland)
Nuclear power stations are by their nature away from things so there's not much about. Most staff commute from larger centres of population.
Plenty to do in the area I lived, which was an hour's commute from the station.
