The Role
The trainees were very helpful as they were the main mentors checking the work that we had to do. The associates and partners were all very friendly and welcoming. There was no issue asking questions of any of the employees.
I sat in the Corporate department and expected a high volume of work however many of the staff were away, the office was very quiet and there didn't seem to be that much work that anyone was getting on with. Generally I was given one task in the morning which once finished left me generally free for most of the afternoons.
The second half of the week my trainee buddy was not there. This meant that the work that was normally delegated to the trainee was instead delegated to me.
Legal analysis and research skills were definitely improved.
The Company
Friendly and there was lots of socialising with other people on the vacation scheme. I have kept in touch with some of them since.
Was very well organised.
I think I learnt more simply from being in the right environment than from what the firm invested in me.
Subsidised Canteen
I hope to do another placement with them next year.
The Culture
We met for lunch every day and met for drinks after work twice during the week.
General London prices.
