The Role
It was a great experience. Working on a client site and doing real work at a client site was a rewarding experience.
Having spent time in two different teams, I can say that I got on with everyone really well. I met some incredible people and every single one of them was willing to offer help.
It is really dependent on the line manager you get, however, in my case there was a healthy level of guidance combined with degree of flexibility. In other words, just about the level of support you need to learn on the job.
The internship had regular 8am - 6.30pm/7pm working hours (Quite on par with other companies in London). However, part of the internship also entailed producing a large report which meant additional 1-2 hours/day had to be spent doing research/meeting team members. All in all, 12-13 hour days should not be a surprise.
It highly depends on the line manager, however, I was given much more responsibility than I could have expected at the start. Meeting clients and have sole responsibility for a key deliverable of your team is pretty indicative of the level of responsibility granted to me.
The experience was a good stretch for my excel, power point, visio skills (due to specifics of my role). In addition, I learnt a lot about project and people management.
The Company
The atmosphere is highly dependent on the project that you get assigned to. In my case, I worked on one of the biggest company's accounts with over 50 consultants. As a result, the atmosphere was great and I had a great time.
Despite some hiccups at the beginning of the internship, the whole experience when it actually came to working on a project was pretty smooth.
There is a week of training before you get assigned on a project. Besides that, most of the training takes place on when you are on projects.
Sports and Social Club
I greatly enjoyed working for Capco.
The Culture
x
There are a number of clubs that one can get involved in to based on personal preferences, however, some are more active than others.
