The Role
I really enjoyed my placement at Bliss, and was very sad to leave!
They are a small team who are very close, so are in some ways a hard nut to crack. However as my placement went on, I felt I got to know them a lot better.
I was given support to a point, but I was happy to use my initiative and work independently, so I didn't always ask for help.
I was given research, transcribing, and bits of writing for the website. I was happy to be doing work that would go towards the magazine, rather than imaginary work experience tasks.
I learnt a lot about how to structure interview questions and theme features.
The Company
The office houses a few different magazines which in some ways makes it quite segregated. However, the Bliss team were cheerful, chatty and friendly.
I was given a work experience pack a while before my placement.
I would love to work at Bliss, however they are sadly not hiring any time soon!
The Culture
The team got on really well, and tweeted me when I was at home!
I am luckily from the Tunbridge Wells area, but it is quite an expensive town in general.
There are a few clubs and bars, and good restaurants.
None whilst I was there.
