The Role
I've had an unforgettable year that has been not only extremely valuable but a lot of fun too
Very - I quickly felt like a valuable part of the team
I was given excellent support by all members of my team. They are extremely friendly and helpful and I never felt like there was something I couldn't ask. They really made my time here an enjoyable and incredibly useful learning experience. Outside of that I also felt like I had great support from the HR team which kept in regular contact with the interns and provided very useful workshops and training sessions
Once I had been given training and had enough practice with the tools used, I was always kept busy - but not overloaded. I was always encouraged to speak up if I felt I had too much work to keep up with
Quite a lot - however, I was always encouraged to talk to my team if I felt out of depth or if I needed help with anything.
The time I have spent here has been extremely valuable and will definitely aid me in my continuing studies and hopefully in finding a job after University. I feel like I have learnt so much in just year, not only about TV Research, but about other departments within the business and the industry as a whole. On top of that I have learnt about and adapted to working in an office environment
The Company
It's an enjoyable place to work - busy and lively, with lots of people around.
Great; we had a useful induction on arrival, and HR had set out a few months of introductory lunch and learn/executive breakfast sessions with senior members of staff, to give us insight into the business. Later throughout the year they set up other useful workshops such as CV writing. We were also added to The Creative Channels group which allowed us to attend workshops at other companies such as Channel 4, Ogilvy and The BBC, which were all brilliant.
I undertook quite a lot of training mostly regarding the software’s used. However I was encouraged to take on more personal training, for example I received training in presenting, I attended a research course outside of the company, and received moderator training. I was also encouraged to move around departments I was interested in and learn about other areas of the business.

The Culture
I lived at home so the 'cost of living' part doesn't really apply, but I knew other interns that lived around the area and found it affordable.
There are some great bars and restaurants on the business park, and Central London is only a short train journey away.
We were given the opportunity to attend workshops at other media companies. I was also given the opportunity to attend research conferences with my team. On a more social side, 'The Fun Committy' set up events for employees outside of work such as pub quizzes, and HR often set up outside of work meets for the interns.
