The Role
This work experience has given me the chance to develop skills that I would not have had the change to do at university
Like part of a team.. less like an intern
With the open door policy I feel comfortable enough to express concerns if they arise. Any job difficulties I have, I don't feel worried to question. No question is a silly question!
Everyday is a new day with new challenges and it is great to be kept busy with real work. Some projects will take up different amounts of time but there will always be something to keep you on your toes.
Dealing with people across different geo's make's my work ever more important. At Intel everyone's work should add value to the business.
Intel offers great training opportunities from personal development to presentation skills. I have learnt skills which I would not have learnt during my time at University.
The Company
Very friendly, chatty people
Compulsory training, 6 week hand over period with previous intern and work to do as soon as you start.
Lots of training available, some mandatory others you can opt to take on- very helpful to do as much as possible!
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Healthcare from home
Within the Finance department they take on very few grads.. each year is different
The Culture
There are various Intern committee's who try and organise different social events... Intel also provide few events throughout the year including the Christmas ball and BBQ events
Swindon is fairly cheap to rent out. Easy to get to Bath, Reading and London.
It's not a university town so nightlife isn't great but it still has enough to do after work.. cinema, ice skating...
There are lots of clubs but Intel have their own sports committees and games happening like football and netball
