The Role
One of the best years of my life so far. Being with 60 other interns there is a strong student lifestyle still at the same time as working in the real world.
At Intel you are treated just like any other member of staff and see how the work you are doing is benefiting the organisation
Every intern has their own manager and is encouraged to meet regularly with them. I meet with mine every week for half an hour where we go over the projects im working on, its so easy to say if I'm having any problems or want more work!
It's so easy to ask for more work/ say you've got too much because you have meetings with your managers regularly.
Intel have had interns for years which means they are used to having you around and leaving to your own devices and managing your own projects!
Due to the fact that you are left to manage your own projects and find more work if you want to, skills are improved majorly! I have found that because of this my communication and time keeping skills have developed the most.
The Company
The team im in within Intel is quite small and a young team with a number of staff that used to be interns and have been hired back
Extremely well - once they noticed that I wanted to get involved in other types of projects they changed my manager to suit me more
They have such a strong training schedule, and even sent 5 of us interns from my department to Turkey to do training for a week!

Not great in this department but lots of options in other departments
The Culture
with 60 interns theres always something to do and there is an intern committee which includes charity team, sports and social, publishing and connections.
Reasonable - about the same as uni houses but nicer
Its not amazing, but some nights arent that bad.. so many cities are nearby to travel to which we often do
They encourage volunteering and have a team of people that can get you discounts at local events ect
