The Role
Its been very exciting working for such a large, well respected company. I have learnt loads of new skills and my technical ability has always improved greatly.
As a team we have got on really well inside and outside of work. Before joining the placement I was worried that I would not be taken seriously as I was only an intern but this is far from the truth. I feel like a valued member of the team.
The level of support in this placement is fantastic. I meet with my manager weekly and can talk about anything be it positives or negatives.
The job roles varies so it depends on how busy the team is but the balance is usually perfect.
I was given a lot of responsibility and was involved in some very big projects, so very content.
I have learnt a lot of valuable skills but technical and customer orientated. I feel better equipped to head into my final year at uni.
The Company
Most of the time the atmosphere is brilliant but everyone has an off day, even if it is once every blue moon.
The whole placement was very structured, from the training when we started and ending with the structured finish.
Intel encouraged me to take additional courses to help bolster my CV and they offered to pay all the costs for the exam. Very excellent.
Sports and Social Club
Company Car
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
The chance of a job back at my site are low but that doesn't mean the other sites globally will be the same. I am very glad to have Intel on my CV so I am happy either way.
The Culture
Very good. A lot of social events and trips were organised, it was like being at uni most of the time!
The prices are ok if you are lucky and get a house early.
The only downfall is that there is only one club to go out too, which wasn't good.
Every week there was a new Activity planned so all in all very good.
