The Role
I have really enjoyed working at Intel. I have also enjoyed having a lot of other interns around me.
You have a lot of responsibility and your colleagues value the work you do. Dependant on the work you do your work can be used externally as well as in the company.
You get supported a lot throughout the placement from different people by having on the job coaches and buddies. Guidance is very dependent on the role and the manager. In some roles you have less guidance than others.
It is what you make it. You can make yourself really busy with projects on top of your core role.
I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement but this can be dependent on the role you were in.
This has developed many skills for me and has also allowed me to realise what career I want to have.
The Company
Overall, the atmosphere at Intel is very good. As long as you get your work done then you can have a laugh.
Intel has been doing this internship for many years and have built a well organised internship. Students are able to get involved and you know what job you are doing and you can add as much as you like to it.
It depends on the team and the manager you have. It is also dependent on yourself as to how much the company will invest into your training. The basic training is very good. You are also encouraged to do extra trainings and personal developement activities.

Intel is a great company to work for. It would be great to work for them in the future.
The Culture
At Intel there are many placement students so it can be very social. There is also a sports and social society that organise a lot of activities. It also can be very social amongst your teams with team meals etc.
Since Swindon is not a student town living here is quite cheap and only an hour from London on a direct train.
It is what you make it. Having a lot of interns here helps. There are not many clubs here.
There are a few of us that has joined a sports team. Unfortunately, the sport that I like to do I could not do due to the facilities being quite far away.
