The Role
Work atmosphere is great, everybody is easy to get on with, all interns get involved in regular events.
Have a job role in which I am required to do important tasks which affect the team.
I have a weekly one to one meeting with my manager where we go over any issues or projects I may be working on
I am very busy quite a lot of the time, but I have made many efficiency improvements since starting to help take my job role to a suitable working level.
I work with very large budgets and communicate with high level managers on a regular basis, I enjoy the high responsibility.
My skills with microsoft office have greatly improved which will help me forever, I also feel my presentation and time keeping skills have improved heavily.
The Company
A great working environment, calm and enjoyable without feeling too pressured.
There are so many services and people which are available to help, which have been setup for interns to go if they need help and we have many intern specific events for us.
I've had a decent level of training in Excel which has been a great help, but little else other than that.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
International Travel
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Healthcare from home
In finance they hire around 25% of interns back, I would love to get a job back.
The Culture
Although it is in Swindon there are quite a few social events and the intern community organise loads of nights out. There are 60 interns so it's pretty good as there are always people up for it.
Rent is much cheaper than Uni with some very nice houses available, going out is not that bad on a student night but otherwise quite expensive. (This isn't an issue as Thursday/Saturday are the best nights anyway)
It's Swindon so not ideal, but the nights can be a good laugh.
So many different opportunities to get involved with. Intel are very keen on volunteering and there are many committees which are available to get involved in. Sport is a MASSIVE thing at Intel too. Big plus for anyone keen on sport.
