The Role
My placement was exciting, varied, insightful and it kept me busy. I never in a million years imagined that I would be given the responsibility that I have been and I will walk away at the end of the year with a portfolio full the the brim.
I was never in a situation where I was treated like the student. I was a valued member of staff that became an integral member of the team. I also became a contact point for many external organisations and would hold the fort for the brand I was working on when the Senior Brand Manager was away.
I had a fantastically supportive line manager that was extremely motivated by my own personal development and general happiness.
I held a position with a lot of responsibility and some days could be extremely hectic. That said, on a day-to-day basis, I had plenty of work to be getting on and learnt to prioritise certain tasks above others. I would then get to the to-do list on quieter days.
I was given responsibility of a wide variety of tasks and in a number of different circumstances I have seen physically what I have produced. Major projects I strategised and executed were product launches and experiential activation.
Throughout the year and with regular reviews it was quite clear that I have developed my skills in many different areas and my confidence has also improved greatly. I have experienced a wide variety of scenarios, liaised with many departments including design, trade, operations, customer service, technical and eCommerce. I could go on!
The Company
Fantastic - like a big supportive and proud family. The other perks made Maxinutrition really unique; charity days, ambassador visits and outings.
All aspects of my placement have been well organised.
I attended most training sessions that were open to the rest of my team, including a fantastic day and the Google UK HQ.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
I have the option to return.
The Culture
As we are based outside of London, this could often be difficult but we do organise events from time to time.
Again, being outside of London, compared to the students based at HQ, my cost of living was a lot lower.
Not great! But London isn't far away...
Yes - photo shoots and events. Working at the London Triathlon was a great day out (and night out!)
