About You
A comprehensive two day insight that gave the students the right amount of information to make a decisive judgment of the firm without feeling overwhelmed.
This factor is one of Deloitte's most attractive qualities. The effort put in by staff felt honest and authentic.
Staff were always on hand to help out. We were not once left feeling lost or without guidance.
There's only so much information you can read on a company. The insight has allowed me to make an informed decision on my future career path.
The Company
Fantastic, and by the far the most impressive insight I have been on as a student. Every detail was flawless in terms of how well it ran.
I felt almost that I was dining with friends I've had known for a while. By the first night it was forgotten that I'd only met the people 12 hours previously.
The nature of the insight meant training opportunities were very limited. Deloitte tailored exercises and games to balance training, insight and enjoyment to a high level.
Numerous talks by current staff allowed students to gain a decent judgment on what a full time role would entail.
Numerous employees from all aspects of the company were involved in the scheme, and therefore presented a view for the whole company.
Again, as it was only short, there's a limit to how large the effect was. But it has definitely given me lots of food for thought.
Everything Else
We were reimbursed for travel expenses to a reasonable amount.
Every session involved meeting employees of different sections of the company, and this culminated in an evening meal with said employees as a chance to network.
There were plentiful.
As said above, the meal provided ample opportunities to understand all aspects of employees' lives.
Anyone looking for a career in accountancy or finance in general should apply to this scheme, even if you use it to find out a career in accountancy isn't for you.
