The Role
had 5 different roles whilst on placement.
Whilst with the Bids and Contracts team, Construction and Property and the Energy team I felt really valued.
Whilst with the Bids and Contracts team, Construction and Property and the Energy team I felt supported.
Whilst on placement I often worked after hours and came to work early. On one occassion I worked short of a 12 hour day.
When I was with Purchasing and Supply, Construction and Property and the bids and contract team I held a lot of responsibility.
I leant a lot about the world of work, of office politics and how to do the best you can whilst working through a recession. I also leant how to better manage my time and meeting deadlines.
The Company
Was difficult to assess as each of the divisions I worked in had been hit by the recession and this affected the atmosphere a lot.
The divisions that I worked for had not had a placement student so there was no set procedure in place.
I was offered the training that would assist me best in my roles however, I was not offered anything else to advance my skills or knowledge
Healthcare/Dental
I have been told that I have a job if needed in Manchester as an administrator for the construction and property division
The Culture
Often went out after work every Friday for drinks and other occassions like birthdays etc.
Very expensive
Lived and worked near the heart of Manchester City Centre
only for birthdays and other occassions
