The Role
Did so much stuff - pushed myself everyday and achieved more than I ever thought I would on placement
Made some amazing friends and had some very touching reviews from peers and bosses.
Had direct access to both MD and Sales Director - extremely helpful and pushed me to do things that I would never have done when I started. Amazing for confidence.
There were periods when I had just so much on I was pretty stressed, but then if you want the really cool jobs, you need to do the work.
Maybe not running the show, but because I was not afraid of responsibility I quickly turned the position into far more than I was expected to - even represented the company, on my own and presented in front of 100 people.
Hugely, I went to uni a few years after my friends and had worked before. I thought I knew it all, but actually this placement helped me to understand business far more that I did and made me much more focused in final year.
The Company
Moments when it was quiet, but made friends here that will be buddies for life.
They were pretty good from the outset, but I am still involved with the company and have watched (and hopefully helped) developed the scheme even further. Placement students are very important here and they are made to feel that from the outset.
Lots of courses about our product but it was more that I was interacting at such a high level all the time that helped me learn more.

I got the job and work there now. By talking to others who have been here longer I can tell career progression is swift and fruitful.
The Culture
There were only a few of us then so the scene was with the whole company - which was great.
Living was pretty expensive, but direct train to London was worth it.
The company has moved now and is much closer to Oxford, but then it was based in High Wycombe so the bars were not great - but we still had a great time.
We were always doing stuff. But, mostly this was organised by me and the friends I had made at work rather than directly through the company.
