About You
It was great to see the head offices and the general environment. Although, what I was actually doing day-to-day included, viewing the seating plan for the Fashion Week show and addressing invites.
The people myself and another girl worked with were lovely, but lack of tasks made us unmotivated and made the days go really slow, felt a bit wasted.
Everyone was really friendly, helpful and welcoming, so if we misunderstood anything it wasn't a problem. Also if anything wasn't done to standard they were kind.
I literally did not develop any other skills except sticking labels down, writing a few numbers, highlighting spreadsheets and cutting post it notes.
The Company
I think they underestimated how much work they needed done by interns, by the sound of it the previous season the interns were working long hours and had a lot to do.
Was encouraged to go on breaks, slow days, had to ask to be given work at least 6 or 7 times each day. Could tell that employees were hard at work doing the important things. Didn't get a desk/computer just sat in the room where the seating plan was rolled out, and because it had to be kept clean wasn't relaxed.
Was not 'trained'. Just given a few tasks, including sticking about 900 stickers for invites
I think a full time job would probably be better, due to having your own tasks. But I don't think they trust their interns enough to carry out larger tasks, or they are covered by a different department.
Not much, didn't get any background info. Don't know much about the company, just their guests for the show.
Everything Else
As I didn't even get to help on the day of the show, I was given a ticket to the Regent Street showing.
Met about 5 people.. including whom I was working with. Had to leave the room when the higher-ups came in.
None, didn't find out much about anything going on. Wasn't given access to a computer either.
None, because of fashion week i think there was a lot of pressure and long nights, not really laid back.
I can tell they had good intentions and were lovely and friendly, but I didn't feel needed 70% of the time. Resulting in ending a few days early.
