    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Integrating the team was really difficult since i was given a task that no one wanted to do. I was not able to do a bit more than the basic cost control tasks since my managers never had the time to train me. However, even though, i learnt by asking my colleagues, was there on time and never left work early, they nearly destroyed my final year my down grading me on my evaluation. even though, this a telecom company, managers don't discuss issues with their trainees.

    2/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Depending on the tasks done, and the reasons why they were done, work could be valued.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • When I took over my colleague's perimeter after her departure, no training was given. More over, recently, while i was testing the new erp, some work was left on my desk. It was a new perimeter that i was supposed to manage. Nobody came to me to discuss it before it was handed to me. And when i asked where the timesheets and expenses came from, who was previously managing these employees my managers acted as if they had never heard about it.

    1/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I happened to be really busy during closing (the last two weeks of the month) and the first week of the month.

  • 2/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Atmosphere is very tense since the boss tends to share the pressure he receives onto us. The cost controllers neglect their assistants and barely take time to help them out or help them progress in their work.

    2/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • 2/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • In BT, Interns are strangers. They are not allowed to have training. I managed to go on training only because i had heard about them and my colleagues asked me to join.

    1/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 1/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • BT is not recruiting at the moment. All they are looking for is trainees payed maximum 400 euros per month. This is completely ridiculous.
