About You
I liked learning more about life in an accountancy firm. However, at times the activities did tend to last a little longer than I would have liked!
I felt that they really put in a lot of effort into welcoming us into the firm and also openly answered all our questions!
We received individual feedback on our performance which I thought was great because it allowed me to identify my strengths.
I felt that my communication skills were greatly enhanced throughout the insight, not to mention my teamworking skills through the many group activities.
The Company
I felt that at times we were being rushed, especially during the debrief of some of the tasks if we were running late.
The atmosphere was lively, but at the same time was serious enough for me to appreciate the working environment.
The firm did not really invest too much in me given that it was an insight session, however, they provided us with useful resources which have equipped me for forthcoming assessment centres.
I got a good idea given the numerous case studies and exercises which we were given.
The culture was emphasised throughout and I got the feeling that the firm has a very strong people culture.
This was invaluable as it confirmed my desire to pursue this field of work.
Everything Else
Only travel expenses were reimbursed.
There weren't too many informal networking sessions. Usually this occurred over a short bite to eat between tasks!
As this was an insight there weren't many. I can imagine that there would be many more during the internship.
I heard about the usual football and rugby clubs but nothing too exotic unfortunately.
Absolutely! The couple of days are well worth it.
