The Role
I found the people I worked with and the diversity of my role both satisfying and enjoyable.
My colleagues were very open and honest and I always fealt I knew where I was with them and that they valued me as a coleague.
I was supported by a number of management figures during my placement and always knew I could talk to them.
I was relatively busy due to being open to helping a number of colleagues with different tasks. There were times where work would slow due to the nature of the project though.
I was given full responsibility for all tasks I would undertake although again due to the nature of the project could not always get nvolved with the more technically serious tasks.
I think I have developed alot personally during my placement and feel that I will be a more valuable employee prospect to any future job.
The Company
Everyone was very friendly and open with eachother. There was never any negative atmosphere and I would never be afraid to approach someone for any reason.
I think with my placement being secured quite late and being in a smaller project based office I did lack quite a bit of support and work at first. This only happened at first but progressively got better and Newnet is a great network. Although when the student after me started I did notice he lacked alot in terms of support during his first week too.
National Grid always allowed me to go on any trips to help develop my knowledge at the company and Newnet also organised most of these trips. My management was also open to let me take part in any trips or presentations set up by myself. I was also enrolled on a course early on in the year which was very beneficial.

Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
Due to the size and diverse nature of the company a future their is very appealing.
The Culture
With the network in place the social scene amongst students for networking was very good.
Living costs I would consider average and socialising in the specific area also.
Nightlife in comparison to other places would be considered very bad but it is what you make of it really.
Social events and activities were frequently circulated.
