The Role
I had a great placement at ProspectSoft. I was given lots of interesting customer projects to work on which gave me a real insight into what it is like to work in the industry.
I was treated the same as a full time member of staff. Everyone gets on really well.
A full months training was provided when I started which allowed me pick up most of the skills I needed for the year ahead. Other members of staff are always more then willing to help if you get stuck on a particular issue.
Throughout the placement I was always keep busy and never bored with nothing to do.
After starting out on a few smaller projects I progressed onto working on some of the larger customer projects that were going on.
I feel that by working at ProspectSoft I have gained a great insight into how the "real world" works and I believe this will help me during my final year project back at university.
The Company
General friendly atmosphere, everyone gets on well.
Well done, with opportunities to meet current employees before we started and good communication throughout the application process.
One month of training provided at the beginning of the placement, however most of this was primarily aimed at ProspectSoft's businesses.
Company Parties/Events
The placement is really a year long interview, I was offered a position at the end of my placement which I hastily accepted.
The Culture
There were several placements involved in all areas of the business, we all got on well and there was always something going on to do.
I lived in High Wycombe which is about a 20 minute commute from ProspectSoft. High Wycombe is not an overly expensive area but as it is close to London prices are slightly higher than what I was normally used to.
It depends on where you live. In High Wycombe there is not that much going on but Oxford is commutable which has a better nightlife.
Always something going on football, meals out and trips to the pub to name a few.
