The Role
I really enjoyed my Internship. The programme was very structured and I was impressed with big ambitions the bank had for the future.
I was able easily intgrate into the team as I was given responsiblities from the start which allowed me to intract with the entire team and other departments. Barcap clearly has an excellent Teamworking culture.
My manager was very supportive and had an open door policy whenever I had any questions or doubts. Moreover, as interns we given the opportunity to arrange meetings with over 10 MDs and Directors. The flat management structure is something that amazed me during my time there.
My normal working hours were between 8am to 7pm. I was very busy during my internship which I believe is a good thing.
I was given key responsiblities from the start that were essential for the team to function effectively.
I realised how my degree has many transferable skills including analytical and problem solving skills. The internship was a big eye opener for me and has given me a better idea of what career path I would like to follow.
The Company
The atmosphere was very energetic.
I was really impressed by the structure of the internship, from the training to the Intern group projects. I believe after speaking to friends in other banks that we have the best structured internship programme for an Investment Bank.
We had excellent training and we were given the time to speak to senior management despite their busy schedule.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I got job offer and I decided to start immediately.
The Culture
We had several events organised for us so we had a very close group of interns.
As I was only a summer intern I couldn't get involved in other activities outside of work. But we had several charity work shops organised for us as part of the internship.
