About You
As a whole, it provided a very good overview of the structure of Deloitte and how it operates, as much as can be expected in two days.
Whilst the employees were very kind with a small amount of exposure to Partners, the insight was repeated 3 other times over 2 weeks, so was tough to feel hugely valued.
We received quite a lot of guidance regarding the Summer Vacation Scheme and grad scheme beyond .
It assisted more in helping career prospect and preparation at an early stage.
The Company
A few minor technical issues at the start but considering it was not in HR's native office, it took place in Manchester, and the first year of doing the scheme, it was incredibly well planned and fairly fault free.
Great atmosphere with recent graduates, a meal with plenty of socialising on the first night, and lovely accommodation provided for the night.
A series of case studies and presentations and body language advice from a well-known expert, a lot given the short 2 day length.
Fantastic insight across the whole of Deloitte, considering only 2 days, the only way to find out more would be on the Summer Vacation Scheme, but would be far more specialised, not giving wider insight.
Deloitte seems to have a distinct culture that seemed apparent throughout the division and insight as a whole.
It gave actual insight in to how the company operates, giving most of the information needed to begin to make a really informed decision about your future.
Everything Else
Travel expenses up to the value of £50 and a fantastic hotel room for the night in between the two days.
Yes, if you were sociable with the employees during the case studies and meal. I continued to talk and drink with one of the consultants late into the night at the hotel bar, which perhaps gave me the most "real" insight of the whole two days.
As above, great opportunities to network and the meal was a nice occasion, limited due to time constraints, however.
Employees are given paid days off work to take part in community work and there are socials and sports leagues.
Despite all the testing required, it is very much a springboard on to the Summer Vacation Scheme, but also will give you information needed to make the right decision as to your future.
