About You
Gave real insight into BAML's method of operating and overview of structure and details of individual divisions.
BAML certainly value as future potential, this is shown by senior level members of the business you meet and the amount of money spent to get you there and for you to enjoy yourself.
Lots of advice sessions on careers as a whole and presentation skills etc.
Useful more for future career, less so for degree studies, but gives something to aim to achieve in the future.
The Company
Everyday was organised at what each group should be doing down to 15 minute intervals, which stayed fairly on time always.
The group that I got to know were all enthusiastic and fun, whilst BAML were not trying to scare us off with too much intensity and pressure.
There were stock games, presentation skills, reading the FT and assessment sessions which help to this end.
Markets got a closer look than I did, as they were able to shadow. GCIB were less able to do so.
Culture was emphasised, how real this actually was in another matter. It came across as very supportive as an environment.
Helpful, as you could sometimes talk to people and network and find out what really the roles were like.
Everything Else
We were given expenses for travel and if needed, serviced apartments for the length of the programme.
There were networking lunches and the closing dinner had plenty of senior members of BAML to find out information from and to network.
The closing dinner in particular was delicious, well stocked in terms of alcohol, and a great opportunity to socialise and network.
There are diversity networks and sports leagues, as well as charitable opportunities.
Gave real insight to the programme, becomes less useful if on multiple spring weeks, but informed you of a company's dyamics.
