The Role
Very good placement, good responsibilities and a great office atmosphere
My team was basically my 2nd family. Always got help when need (Even when I got back to university!)
The management was simply fantastic.
Some days were pretty hectic and the others weren't so much.
They train you up to speed and give you pretty much the same work as the rest of the team. You tend to get more responsibility in the later part of the year.
I learnt a lot from this placement, you definitely come out as a much better person and the skills help you with university too!
The Company
Probably the best bit of the placement. Cakes for everyone's birthday! (good 300 odd staff in the offices).
Pretty good, it's generally tailored to what you want out of it.
They paid for a junior management course, a maths course to keep you skills at university up to date.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Healthcare from home
The sponsorship scheme is very good. They pay £1500 towards your tution fees if they like you and possibly a graduate job at the end of university
The Culture
Loads of socials throughout the year.
It's pretty cheap, £60-£70 a week in a nice quite location.
Night life is poor in Stonehouse/ Stroud. But, it's pretty good in a university town called Cheltenham (15 miles away)
Not really, but you'd want to relax and get out of a work environment on a weekend anyway!
