The Role
The work was interesting and the office was very social.
Was offered a contract at the end of the placement, and they have even tried to talk me out of taking the graduate job I already had lined up so that I could stay on.
First few weeks involved me having to find a lot of my own work, but there was always someone available if I needed advice.
Again, the first few weeks were quite slow, but by the end I had plenty of project work on the go.
Trusted with providing work that would be included in one of the largest projects taking place within the organisation. The tasks were exactly the same as full team members, so I felt like I was doing real work.
I acquired a lot of the skills that are applicable within a storage organisation as well as some skills more specific to my rule, through access to a range of experts.
The Company
Generally very friendly, but a lot of contractors in my department.
The general running of the internship was well handled, but I lacked a bit of direction and work to begin with.
I was invited to attend all of the team training days and had access to the external experts which we used on our projects.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Will be staying on for four months until I start my grad role, could have been permanent if I wanted.
The Culture
There were always people to go out with at least once or twice a week.
London will always be expensive, but travel costs are well covered. Plus there's free entry to Propoganda for CRUK
Best city in the country for nights out, but can be difficult for people living all over to get home.
There are some fitness classes after work and they are always looking for volunteers at different events.
