    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Finally began to understand what happens in an Actuarial Consultancy firm.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Everyone was super friendly, even stupid questions did not feel off limits.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • In each simulation exercise, we had a member of staff with us to help us with anything we didn't understand and point us in the right direction when we needed it.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Really motivated in my studies and learned to approach and analyse problems from a new perspective. Great guidance in how to breakdown a problem when stuck.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • All bases covered and many opportunities to ask further questions in every one of the sessions.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Very positive and exciting.

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The presenters were very careful to give us a proper explanation of what their business did and how this helped the client, this is all we could hope for as interns.

    3/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Everyone we spoke to told us about their day to day experiences at the firm and how they had progressed since beginning there, this gave you a real sense of what being a TW employee is about.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • I got a sense of a very friendly and flat culture, everyone seemed to be very happy with their role but this may be due to the type of people that work there; i.e. the people who are employed there have stayed because the TW culture is ideal for them. I'm not sure if this will be necessarily true for me.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Just made me more undecided. I was dead set on working as an equity research analyst at an investment bank but now I am reconsidering actuarial roles. I don't think I will ever know until I do a proper internship.

    3/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Expect to receive full reimbursement of travel costs.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yep, the entire day really consisted of being exposed to the vast number of employees at the firm.

    3/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Good, but I would have liked more time to speak one-to-one to the presenters from each business arm.

    3/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Only very slightly; just told that some people play in cross-divisional sports teams.

    3/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Great thing to do if you want to know more about actuarial work, it has been the only event that truly demystified the sector for me.

    5/5
