About You
A very valuable experience and a genuine insight into life at the firm.
Made to feel a part of the team from day one.
Support was always provided when needed. People went as far as they could to help in some cases.
Having completed my degree, this section might not be relevant, but it certainly gave me more focus about a chosen career path.
The Company
Very well structured from start to finish. The HR team did a great job of balancing our departmental pressures with useful presentations and great social opportunities.
Very positive atmosphere. I was made to feel valued from the start and encouraged to learn and ask questions. People were friendly and down to earth.
I was given a buddy who provided me with work. She was incredibly helpful and the work I received was varied in nature.
Couldn't have given me a clearer idea about what I wanted to do. I would highlight the departmental talks as being particularly useful in this regard.
This was a great insight into the inner workings at the firm. In witnessing how people interacted with each other and the relaxed but professional attitude that most people had, I was given a clear idea about the company's culture.
It will ultimately determine my future career path.
Everything Else
I was paid well during my time there, in line with similar Vacation Schemes of this nature.
There were plenty of opportunities to interact with current employees of the firm, from trainee to partner level. I made a few friends through the scheme that I hope to remain in contact with.
We were taken out for meals, drinks and had a cocktail making night which was a unique experience. These were all really enjoyable and helped me settle in and get to know my Vacation Scheme colleagues.
I was given a useful talk on the firm's CSR initiatives, and trainees explained to me the various social opportunities and sports that the firm is involved in.
Without question I would recommend this insight to anyone who is interested at law in an international commercial law firm. It would give them a clear sense of direction as it did in my case.
