The Role
Everyone made me feel really welcome. You are made to feel like part of the team not just an 'intern'
I had an absolutely amazing supervisor who help my personal developement in so many ways. She reall cared about my progress and made it one of her aims.
I was always given lots of stuff to do and there was never a dull day
I was given a fair share of responsibility, and lots of tasks.
I know I will be able to look back at this exeperinece as an intern and know I wouldn't have developed in my career without it.
The Company
The atmosphere was very hard working but was lively enough to keep you engaged. There was a good balance betwene getting on with your work and being able to chat to people freely.
It was really well organised from the start til end. They provide youw ith CV and interview training which was really usefull, and have a thank you event for interns at the end.
The gave a great CV and interview training day, which was very independantly focussed - itw as clear what they were teaching us would help us apply for many jobs ans sectors.
I actually went on to gain a job at CRUK which i was so pleased about. This though is not the case with everyone as there is alot of interns in one take. The job I managed to get was an internal position, so I wouldnt have have access to it otherwise.
The Culture
Being part of the internship group was tonnes of fun. We ate lunch together everyday and was abit like being back at university. There was a great atmosphere and evryone looked out for each other. There was a really good after work social scene among us which was great for making new friends.
It was fairly average for London. There was also local deals around though and lots of happy hours.
The bars were good but there aren't any clubs in Angel.
Yes. Our intern manager always let us knoew when we could volunteer with something and you got a great insight into all the fundraising the charity does. It was always really easy to take art in another teams event which was handy for me who was trying to gain event experience.
