About You
Informative, extensive and enjoyable week
Very strong sense of collegiality and willingness to help among staff
Good guidance, but little one-to-one except during shadowing.
Very good grounding in the ins and outs of an investment bank with some non-banking skills like teamwork, personal branding etc.
The Company
Seamlessly structured.
Quite a few presentations at the start but a very friendly atmosphere and group of people.
Many workshops and group presentations.
Many graduate employees came by to talk and answer questions about the summer internship and the graduate programme.
You can't get a UBS employee to stop talking about how much they love the firm.
Made each division sound extremely interesting - almost an issue of too many choices.
Everything Else
Those who don't live in London were reimbursed for travel and hotel.
Many networking sessions, particularly at the end of the week.
One night out at a bowling alley for the interns and a networking lunch and networking sit-down session.
Discussed the programmes and volunteering UBS employees do
For someone even slightly considering a career in investment banking - UBS Insight is perfect. They do not grill you personally about knowledge of the industry until the Assessment Centre on the last day (which if you pass means you get a summer internship the next year).
