About You
It was a great insight into the work of the investment banking and financial services industry.
The firm provided a lot of learning development material and we always had employees at hand for questions.
We were always based in the same location and had employees in constant contact if we had any queries.
The internship was largely personal building based where we focussed on developing our personal skills through exercises.
The Company
On the first day we were given a full schedule of the weeks events.
The students were all friendly which made the insight a lot more enjoyable experience
They provided a lot of learning hard copy materials along with presentations from senior executives.
The insight was more value driven so we didn't get exposure to the actual roles as much, but we had presentations from representatives around the company available.
As we weren't based directly in the office it was difficult to exactly engage in the culture.
The presentations were very information filled and gave me a lot of information to decide on the area I would like to pursue.
Everything Else
No payment
There were several networking opportunities over dinner and lunches and throughout some of the days in more informal atmospheres
They were very enjoyable but difficult in such a high pressured environment.
I wasn't able to find out any of this information but it seems that they do have lots of societies available.
Definitely, it's a great learning opportunity for anyone of any degree to understand the industry in greater detail.
