About You
We were provided with plenty of information about the firm and there were a few different activities to keep the day interesting.
I was quite impressed by the camaraderie around the office. People were friendly enough towards me and seemed to get along between themselves very well.
Not really applicable since the day was mainly informational. However, from what we were told solicitors at Linklaters are given fairly extensive support throughout training / post-qualification.
I have attended a few similar events before so personally, there was a bit of repetition. However, I would highly recommend the Spring Open Day for anyone interested in commercial law and for people who want to learn more about Linklaters specifically.
The Company
The graduate recruitment team organised the entire day quite well.
Very pleasant. Most of the students who attended had already graduated so there was an interesting diversity of people.
Even from an open day it was evident that Linklaters invest heavily into recruiting and training their future solicitors.
You can only expect so much from an open day, but I have a much better understanding now than I did before.
Again, quite a striking culture really. People were friendly and comfortable around each other. We were also taught about the firm's global ambitions which was a useful bit of insight.
I already knew I wanted to go into commercial law but the open day changed some of my preconceptions about the Magic Circle.
Everything Else
Travel expenses are reimbursed up to £100.
Lunch and a tour with the trainees.
Social event in a nearby bar after the day ended. It was optional so everyone present actually wanted to be there.
The trainees we spoke to were very open about what they get up to outside of work.
Highly recommended to anyone considering a career in commercial law or wanting to find out about Linklaters.
