About You
Quite an intensive week, had to absorb huge amounts of information but eye opening and extremely helpful in learning about different divisions of the bank directly from employees.
Everyone at the bank made us feel extremely welcome, very friendly atmosphere, very encouraging. Networking also helped with this.
A lot of support from recruitment team to employees, speakers etc. Recruitment was really helpful in ensuring we got all the guidance we needed, and they were always available in case we needed help/support etc.
Learnt a lot of invaluable skills, especially with networking. That will definitely help me during my studies and in life in general. As well, communication skills as we had to do pitches (stock pitch), a project over the course of the internship, even asking questions during talks.
The Company
Well structured. Would have liked to do a bit more work shadowing, some sessions could have been a bit more interactive.
General atmosphere was really good. Got to know staff/students not only in a working environment but a more relaxed environment with welcome drinks and end of internship dinner. All students were interesting, motivated and fun, so had a really enjoyable time!
I think they invested a lot in us. A lot of their resources, time etc.
From talking, meeting with different employees from different divisions, it helped me a great deal in understanding what it would be like to work with the firm.
A lot, it is a firm where it's employees are valued. That is clear, they encourage and promote diversity as well as many other values.
Quite valuable, learnt a lot about different areas/divisons of the bank I hadn't really heard about before or that I'd never really considered.
Everything Else
Before the internship, we were told we would be reimbursed for travel, transport expenses and they could provide accommodation. We were also provided with dinner on two occasions, lunch and breakfast every day. From other students, I heard that the accommodation was very good.
Yes, a lot, everyday.
At lunch there would be employees that had just given a talk/presentation. At the dinner, there were 3 employees on each table rotating after every course. Also there was a women's breakfast were we got to network with female employees. Welcome drinks as well, there could have been more opportunities to socialize with fellow students after work.
Yes we did, in talk about corporate and social responsibility. As well as representatives from different societies who talked to us about these.
I would definitely recommend this insight.
