About You
It was a thoroughly enjoyable week; lots of talks, presentations, networking opportunities and business-orientated challenges.
BAML really value us in terms of how senior managers took time to speak to us and network at social events.
A lot of support was given and we had many opportunities to ask questions.
We had an overview of every business division, enabling us to see how BAML functions in the current economic climate. We also had the opportunity to work shadow on either a 1-1 or 2-1 basis on the trading floor.
The Company
Very well structured. The days were packed and long but was definitely worth it!
A really pleasant atmosphere. Everybody (both staff and applicants) were very friendly.
There wasn't too much opportunity for personal training, however this applies more to those on internship and graduate scheme programmes.
We networked with a lot of business reps and you really got the sense whilst talking to them that they love what they do. In addition, we were based in two office locations to get a feel of what the atmosphere was like on a day-to-day basis.
In addition to the division talks, we had additional talks on aspects such as CSR, diversity and innovation.
Essentially it has cemented my belief that this is the career path I wish to pursue.
Everything Else
Expenses for accommodation and transport to/from the office were reimbursed.
There were a number of networking events available - evening drinks on one night, a full meal on another - and indeed work shadowing and lunches.
BAML couldn't have done much more to improve the networking opportunities available.
During the work shadowing session, we were able to find out more about life outside of work. BAML also organise environmental/charity events for full-time employees.
Highly recommended if you're considering a career in banking.
