About You
I enjoyed it very much, it provided me with a very good insight to the bank
All the business reps we meet were supportive, helpful, friendly and eager to talk to us. And of course HR were great!
Everything was clearly explained to us - we had a detailed schedule of the 3 days we spent at Citi.
The information was more relevant to a career in the bank and very useful if you are considering banking and a summer internship at Citi.
The Company
Very well structured, we fit in everything that was needed into only 3 days without feeling like the days were too packed and intense.
The atmosphere was fast paced, but still friendly and inclusive.
We had an interview skills session and a 'How to Read the FT' session, both of which were very useful.
There were a lot of panels in which we got to ask questions about everyday life in the firm. Then the one-on-one work shadowing was excellent as you got to go onto the different floors, meet different teams, see how teams, offices, and days are structured and ask all your silly questions as well.
As mentioned above, being able to go onto the floors and see how the business was run really helped us to get an insight into the company culture and ethos.
It made me certain I wanted to apply for the internship next summer, and hopefully get a full time job there when I graduate.
Everything Else
This is an unpaid week, however travel costs are reimbursed, and if you live outside of London, they will put you up in a very posh hotel :)
Plenty. We did 1-on-1 work shadowing as well as a tour of the trading floor with a trader. Then the two evenings we had drinks and bowling with business reps.
One of the nights they took us to All Stars bowling lane where there were loads of business reps from all different divisions available to talk to. They hired the private lanes, and there were free drinks and canapes available. Lots of fun.
Not too much, although within individual teams, they seem to organise their own activities and nights out.
For sure! Excellent opportunity and you can get fast tracked to a AC for the summer internship if you do well at the Insight Week.
