About You
Very informative and interesting week.
You certainly get to meet a lot of people and if you get along they really include you.
We got a lot of hints and tips from speakers as well as employees.
Studying a degree with finance options the week has certainly helped me understand better how an investment bank works and its internal functions and thus will aid my understanding come exam season.
The Company
HR did a great job, we were rarely waiting around and we were always busy.
Really interesting people to talk to both employees and other interns.
It was only a week's insight so they didn't invest a huge amount, but the 'training' they did do in terms of work methods and workshops was excellent.
The work-shadowing gave us a day-to-day impression of the job and talking to employees also gave us a lot of information.
We were made aware of the culture during talks and questions but we could also see it in action.
Has won me round to the idea of investment banking when before I wasn't sure.
Everything Else
I have not yet filed for my expenses but the firm does offer it for those who live outside London.
Work-shadowing was a key example, but we had a networking lunch one day and a speed networking session the next which really informed us well.
Really good, we went bowling on the Tuesday night which was a good way to let off steam and meet people.
The advocate a better work-life balance than other banks and I can see that, but besides volunteer work they didn't talk much about this area.
For the experience, certainly, for trying for a longer internship and a job, it depends on what area they are interested in.
