About You
The insight week provided a useful introduction to all of the different business area that UBS operates in.
There is a strong emphasis on the culture and environment at UBS, but this could have been more strongly shown.
The assessment centre help at the end of the week was particularly useful.
The placement was particularly useful for exposing me to how an assessment centre operates.
The Company
The whole week ran very smoothly and appeared to be very professional.
There were plenty of opportunities to get to know everyone else who was part of the programme, and there were plenty of familiar places by the end of the week.
UBS appeared to be keen to impress everyone on the programme, and it certainly felt as though they wanted as many of us to succeed at the assessment centre as possible.
The work shadowing was particularly useful in providing an insight into what a day to day job in equities research would be like in reality.
There was a strong emphasis on the culture of UBS throughout the week and it was made clear that the company is keen to ensure a collaborative and respectful environment.
It provided a useful introduction into how I would be suited to a career in investment banking.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed for travel expenses and accommodation was paid for.
There could have been more opportunities to network with representatives of UBS.
There were plenty of opportunities to network with people on the programme, and the social event provided another chance to get to know the people I was with.
We were made aware of the volunteering opportunities for employees, but there could have been more we were told about.
It was definitely a useful experience and one I am glad I have had.
