About You
I enjoyed it very much. There was a huge amount of variety on offer throughout the week, which ensured the insight remained interesting and stimulating. The people attending were great too, as were the employees involved/graduate recruitment/event.
We were shown a lot of attention. HSF clearly invested a lot of time and money into the programme-we had great accommodation (with breakfast included in Covent Garden hotel!), food, networking events, and presentations from very senior employees.”
We received as much support as necessary. Everyone was willing to help, answer questions and provide advice when needed.
I developed confidence, networking, negotiating and team-working skills. This will help with my study as we regularly need these skills for presentations and team-based work.
The Company
It was incredibly well structured. Everything ran on time, exercises were varied and in a good order that kept us engaged. Events were not too long and were very relevant.
Everyone selected to take part in the insight was ambitious, friendly, good fun and intelligent. We had similar interests and motivations. This created an atmosphere conducive to productivity. Graduate recruitment were very friendly, as were other HSF employees which also contributed to the positivity. Especially considering we were matched up with alumni from our universities.
Many senior figures gave us presentations/supervised and judged pitches and presentations. We had skills sessions and did interactive case studies which really helped with interview preparation for full vacation schemes.
We were provided the opportunity to shadow. I was given an insight into the type of projects trainees work on. In addition, we were taken through a large case worked on by the firm which was incredibly interesting.
Experiencing the offices whilst shadowing; meeting numerous employees at various networking events; and watching videos on the rebranding/merger with Freehills gave us a good understanding.
Everything Else
We had accommodation arranged for us, and had other expenses covered.
We had many networking opportunities. Dinners with other interns/graduate recruitment; drinks events with analysts/associates and managers; and work shadowing with many different employees.
Drinks on the London Eye champagne capsule, dinner in Skylark Bar on the Southbank with other interns/graduate recruitment/partners and associates; lunch with employees during the day in the firm; and work shadowing with many different employees.
Not a huge amount.
Absolutely. The best law one I did due to the variety of professional and social opportunities.
