About You
Great company, informative and useful line-up. Was not a waste of 2 days!
A lot of personal attention was given. We got to do two shadowings on the 2nd day, and even though the person I was supposed to shadow had a lot of things to do, he took the time to sit with me for about 45 mins, answering all my questions. He then referred me to a 2nd seat trainee as he had to rush of to do work, and was incredibly apologetic about it. I was really impressed at how they took our time there seriously.
There was a workshop on interview skills and guidance on the application process
Mostly about the culture of the firm, which will probably help our vac schemes. Gives us a basis of when we go to other firms to do vac schemes as well
The Company
Very well structured- great intermix between workshops and breaks
Everyone was really engaged and asked great questions
There wasn't much time for it since it was only two days, but there was still a interview skills workshop
There was the initial talk by a senior partner who gave a very frank account of the firm and where they were heading towards. You really got to understand a day in the life of a trainee during the shadowing sessions.
The shadowings were as informative as you want them to be, really.
I had previously closed my mind to the option of working in a global, corporate firm- but that may change now.
Everything Else
Reimbursed for travel, for those who wanted it there was free lodging as well at a nearby travellodge
It was more structured so there were not really a lot of meetings, but that's understandable. As it is, I got to talk to two trainees, two associates and a partner.
Time to mingle over lunch
It's all about being proactive and asking really.
Great opportunity to find out about Linklaters, well structured and definitely not a waste of time
