About You
I really enjoyed learning through the simulations but the desk rotations were a bit dull, though they did provide good insight into the different roles that each desk did.
They made an effort to include us and everyone we met was really nice. On the downside we didn't have that much contact with people above graduate level compared with other insight weeks where MDs or partners took charge.
The support was really good. They were happy to answer any question and if we didn't understand something go back over it again.
Perhaps not so much in my degree and given the fact that it was only a week long we didn't have time to develop that many skills. However, the simulations were really interesting and the interviews/ presentation were really good practice for the future.
The Company
Exceptionally well organised.
Quite good fun. The interns and graduates were all really nice. The desk rotations were perhaps the only dull part.
The first two days of talks and simulations demonstrated that RBS was making a conscious effort to aid our development. The only downside was the lack of contact with people beyond graduates.
I now know far more than I did before.
It was something that they talked about a lot and was quite evident when you were walking around.
It was a good starting point that I'd recommend for other people.
Everything Else
If you lived outside the M25 they put you up in housing and paid for your travel. Over all quite generous.
Yes but mainly between other interns or graduates. Not many people higher up which was a shame.
Ok. They made an effort laying on drinks etc but it was lacking in the number of employees beyond the graduate level.
We spent a morning learning about RBS activities with a local charity but beyond that not much. No mention of company sports teams etc.
Yes as a useful way to gain a better insight into the workings of the bank. I learnt a lot.
