About You
The bank was great, operations slightly dull. If you think 'ill do operations its similar to sales' you are wrong, stick with front office if you want good experience.
RBS treated all employees and interns very well.
There was always someone to help.
There is very little correlation between operations and my Economics degree, a calculator does all the required math, and skills such as C++ and Java would have been more useful.
The Company
There was a good balance between work shadowing, presentations and enjoyment.
Even when working the atmosphere at RBS is great, its not a lie about the culture.
The firm spent a lot of time and money on us, not necessarily to develop us but to give us the best example of what working at RBS is like.
The insight made me realise operations is not for me. If you want a challenging job, or to make the big money, front office is the best.
You hear about RBS' great culture, now I have experienced it, I believe it.
Front office is far more challenging and interesting, I would love to do sales and trading at RBS.
Everything Else
They were happy to reimburse and provide amazing accommodation.
We met a few managers, however we did not meet with anyone from other sectors such as Front Office.
They put £1000 behind the bar at Revolutions and allowed us to have a good night.
Operations is good if you want to have relaxed hours.
5 Stars because if you are interested in Operations it will be great, if you like front office it is very dull.
